An increase in the use of information technology in the agricultural sector and in the farming equipment came about during the last few years before the millennium. It’s recommendable to buy used farm equipment as this develops and changes constantly. An example are the tractors and excavators, monitors replaced individual instruments and control systems on farm tractors dashboard, therefore used tractors for sale or used ag machinery are recommendable to search. Standardized data connections allowed intelligent working tools to be controlled from the driver’s cab; these were fully integrated into the control system of the towing vehicle. Satellite navigation opened up new ways to optimize work flows in agriculture industry. With a GPS-data logger, the vehicle’s parameters like speed, rotation, instantaneous power, fuel economy can be logged and then using the geographical coordinates, can be linked to a load profile. The movements of livestock can also be determined using this method. There are new possibilities to automate keeping livestock, including the implementation of near-field communication in all farming machines. In cattle farming, every animal with the corresponding marking or sensor can be identified using a machine. This method is used to individually administer feed or to open and close gates.
Two star wheels penetrate the bale and provide an accurate measurement of the moisture content;[58] the information about the condition of the crop being baled prevents processing a crop which is not really ready and allows precise application of additives.[59]

“This expansion is a promising opportunity for Johnson County and the entire state. I’m so pleased about the growth and opportunity for Kansans this will bring.”
Parked up in front of his house is a bright red 27-ton Case tractor which has tracks instead of wheels. It’s worth about $250,000, and there’s a problem with it: an in-cab alarm sounds at ten-minute intervals to alert him to a faulty hydraulic connector he never needs to use.

Skid-steer loaders are typically four-wheel vehicles with the wheels mechanically locked in synchronization on each side, and where the left-side drive wheels can be driven independently of the right-side drive wheels. The wheels typically have no separate steering mechanism and hold a fixed straight alignment on the body of the machine. Turning is accomplished by differential steering, in which the left and right wheel pairs are operated at different speeds, and the machine turns by skidding or dragging its fixed-orientation wheels across the ground. The extremely rigid frame and strong wheel bearings prevent the torsional forces caused by this dragging motion from damaging the machine. As with tracked vehicles, the high ground friction produced by skid steers can rip up soft or fragile road surfaces. They can be converted to low ground friction by using specially designed wheels such as the Mecanum wheel. Skid-steer loaders are capable of zero-radius, “pirouette” turning, which makes them extremely maneuverable and valuable for applications that require a compact, agile loader. Skid-steer loaders are sometimes equipped with tracks instead of the wheels, and such a vehicle is known as a multi-terrain loader.
